Machrie Moor stone circles are located on the Isle of Arran, Scotland.
To get to here, you will need to plan your trip well in advance, ferry service operates every few hours, with more time slots available in the summer (take the Ardrossan – Brodick ferry). The good part about traveling for 50 minutes on the boat, is they have a well-stocked café where you can buy a snack or a good meal and a cup of hot tea to keep warm on a stormy, cold day.
The Stone Circle is open to visitors all year round, and the admission is free.
Scotland is very rainy, and this small island is no exception. Bring a raincoat, knee tall rain boots, and a sturdy umbrella.

From the car parking lot (free parking) to the stone circles it’s a bit of a walk, through the fields, with obstacles such as sheep poop, mud and large puddles.
