The undiscovered Paris: New places to discover!

First-time travelers tend to attend all the iconic locations and visit the most popular attractions. But what about if you travel to the same city for the second time or even the third time? Should you keep on revisiting all the same spots or explore the city further? I say let’s explore the whole city and see the other side of town.

Paris, just like New York or London, is vast and World Famous for its landmarks. Let’s explore this limestone stone city and see what it has to offer besides the overcrowded Eiffel Tower.

Location:  Park: Bois de Vincennes.

Truly a green oasis for Parisians and tourists that discover this fantastic park. The garden isn’t the gilts and glamour you typically find in Paris. It is located on the edges on Paris in the 12th arrondissement. The remote location makes you feel secluded and far away from the hassle and bustle of the busy streets of Paris. The sheer size of this park is impressive, considering its central position in one of Europe’s largest cities. Spreading over 995 hectares of land. Full of biking/hiking trails, lakes, a botanical garden, and a zoo. Losing yourself for a day at one of the empty grass fields while enjoying a picnic and or drinking wine will be pretty easy.

Entrance: It’s free anyone can enter the park, the only thing you need to worry about is how you get there. My recommendation is to take the metro, fast, easy, and cheap.

Location: Château de Vincennes

Versailles a household name and a beautiful palace, that many tourists visit. The fame of this magnificent manor certainly casts a shadow on Château of Vincennes. Not many know that the Chateau was home to numerous royal families before Versailles got built. The castle was a place of both marriage and birth for multiple monarchs. A true 14th-century medieval fortress located on the edge of Bois de Vincennes park. The century-old structure has a moat, towers, a pavilion & staterooms. Learn more about this location by taking the metro down to 12th arrondissement.

Entrance: The entrance fee is 9 euro, and the ticket is valid for one year from the purchase date.

Location: Le Marais

Le Marais isn’t only a fashionable district full of quirky shops and restaurants. This neighborhood is also famous for its architecture. Here you will find yourself in the middle of a maze full of medieval and pre-revolutionary buildings. Walking along the small and narrow streets of this district have the effect of transforming you to another era. After a few long hours of exploring this old area, find Place des Vosges. The oldest square in Paris and a beautiful place to sit and relax. As well as a popular spot with the locals during warm and sunny days. Here in the middle of Place des Vosges, a typical French garden, everything is neat, clean and the buildings all around are alike.

Entrance: this location is free, and anyone and everyone should explore it.

The post will be updated throughout the year.
