Hair accessories are back and growing in popularity. Hair clips, hair bands, and hair ties, small or large, are trending. Growing up, I’ve always loved a cute hair tie. Back in Russia, it was customary to braid your hair with large ribbons, the idea was to be prim and proper “hair done and a clean school uniform.” If your hair was a mess, that meant you’re in for a good shaming by the teacher in front of the class. There were other things that we, as girls/boys, weren’t allowed to wear or do. Schools were rigorous and tried to discipline girls in a certain way that lets say I don’t particularly agree with!
Now that I’m 30 and no longer live by the harsh Russia ideas. I can let my hair loss! I can use as many hair clips as I please. Braid it or not, put it up or down, straight or curled, I love everything about my hair, especially the change of color. Now I’m “Blond,” and hair clips, hairbands and hair ties stand out that much more. Yes, maybe a part of me loves the hair clips all due to my bring up, but now I have the choice to wear what I want and how I want it. It’s the choice that matters.
Here is what we had to look like in school, distinctly (no exception) on September 1st (that’s the first day of school in Russia #tradition):
My favorite hairpieces:
My hair clips:
Shop similar looks:
p.s my hair clips are from C&A however they are currently unavailable for purchase on the web, they do sell them at the shops.
My Hairband:
Everybody needs a set of gorgeous earrings:
My view on earrings is similar to the hair bands. Just like the hair tie scenario, I wasn’t allowed to wear earrings that pleased me. It was always the small round gold earring and nothing more. Now I wear the simple pendants and the out there the outrageous long and sparkly. All earrings represent the current mood I’m in, the outfit I’m wearing, and the place I’m going. I love all sorts of ornaments, lager or small they all sparkle and shine, adding to my outfit a special touch.
